I was able to mount the crossbow without the crank, but it requires a lot of strength and is not recommended. Both ropes can be dismantled with the crank if the hunt ends without a shot. Twin Strike measures 34.5 inches long and 21.25 inches wide when assembled. The width is a product of the recurve design.
The trigger weight was 4.5 pounds for both factors. The Twin Strike is advertised at 7.75 pounds, but its actual weight is 10 pounds without the crank and 11.5 pounds with the crank on. The Havoc is super compact and easy to handle; it measures less than 27 inches without the footboard and 28.75 inches with the footboard. When cocked, the axle-to-axle width is 7.5 inches. The weight of the trigger was a little less than three pounds, and the two-stage trigger is smooth as silk. TenPoint announces the weight of the Havoc at 7.5 pounds without accessories.
I measured the crossbow at 10.8 pounds with all accessories including the Xero X1i scope. With the TenPoint EVO-X viewfinder connected, the crossbow weighed 10.3 pounds. The R500E appears on the list of only 3.6 inches axle-to-axle when cocked. While the actual width of the crossbow is certainly wider than the figure from axis to axis, it is still ultra narrow.
At 28 inches in length, the R500E is also super compact. Without a test model available, trigger data was not available, but in the past Ravin incorporated excellent triggers into his crossbows. The Sub-1 XR is advertised at 7.6 pounds, but with all the accessories attached, I weighed the crossbow at 9.3 pounds. This crossbow really shines on the shooting range and on the field. And if the hunt doesn't end with a shot, the Sub-1 XR can be easily disassembled.
It is the safest and easiest crossbow without crank to disassemble. Here is a narrow speed burner that reaches 420 feet per second. The HyperTac 420 measures only 9.2 inches axle-to-axle when cocked and includes a speed compensation visor. The Ravin R26 weighs 6.5 pounds, making it easier for young hunters to handle.
